How it was started...
She never set out to build a lingerie brand. She wanted women to stop believing discomfort was normal.
This is the story of Jayshree Gupta, a woman who turned her own discomfort into a mission that has now guided thousands of women toward better fit, better comfort and everyday confidence.
Chapter 1: Millions of women adjust their bra every single day. Most think that is normal.
It is not. And one woman's decision to question that discomfort became the beginning of Cazaro.
Before Cazaro, Jayshree worked in aviation as an air hostess long hours, constant movement, strict presentation and very little room for discomfort.
Yet beneath the polished uniform was a daily frustration. Her bra never felt quite right. It dug in. It shifted. It needed constant adjustment. By the end of the day, relief meant taking it off.
Like millions of women, she assumed: “This is simply how bras are.”
But one question changed everything: Was it just her?
“I keep adjusting it all day.” - Her colleague
“The straps always leave marks.” - Her friend
“I cannot wait to take it off.”— almost every woman
“I do not think I have ever known my real size.” - the real issue
Chapter 2: She asked one woman. Then another. Then many more.
The words were different, but the experience was almost always the same.
Women were living with pain, wrong sizing, poor support, constant readjustment and a complete lack of proper guidance. This was not just about lingerie. It was about health, awareness, posture, confidence and the small daily discomforts women had learned to tolerate.
The problem was not that women did not care. The problem was that nobody had taught them what the right fit should feel like.
The mission came before the business.
Jayshree discussed the idea with her husband. She was not simply thinking about launching a lingerie store. She wanted to create a place where women could finally understand their body, discover the right product and feel comfortable every day.
“I do not want women to spend their whole day adjusting their bra—or rushing home just to remove it.”
She left aviation, stepped away from a stable career and began building something deeply personal: a fitting-led lingerie business rooted in education, consultation and care.
Chapter 3: Before selling products, she started with conversations.
One woman. One fitting. One honest conversation at a time.
Jayshree did not begin with a catalogue. She began by understanding why women were uncomfortable, what they had been wearing, how their body had changed and what support they actually needed.
The most important question was not “What size do you wear?” It was “How do you feel at the end of your day?”
Consultation became the heart of Cazaro. The product was important but choosing the right product for the right body mattered even more.
She researched beyond what was easily available.
Jayshree studied products, fabrics, construction and sizing. She travelled, explored international options, spoke with suppliers and searched for products that could serve different body types and sizes with dignity.
She quoted “Every woman deserves better than something that is simply good enough.”
Chapter 4: The rise and the fall of Cazaro. But...
A private fitting studio built around trust.
Over time, Cazaro grew into a dedicated store and private fitting studio in Powai, Mumbai, India.
Women could speak openly, get expert guidance and find products suited to their bodies without embarrassment or pressure. The space was large, the inventory was extensive and the fitting experience was deeply personal.
The business was growing. The mission was working. Then the world stopped.
The setback...
Then everything went quiet.
COVID19 Happened. Like many businesses shutdown and some in super survival stage. And the Cazaro of one in many went to edge of shutdown. Lose her private fiiting studio, Lakhs of Inventories to dead stock... Stuff and Team salaries were paid becuase she believe everyone contributed and supported her and that her payback to them & her loyalty to all.
The fitting studio that had once been filled with conversations became silent.
It was not the end of Cazaro but it was one of the hardest chapters in its story...
But...
Chapter 5: Not from another showroom. But from home.
The setback changed the business, but it did not change the purpose. Jayshree rebuilt from her home, supported by a team of fitting experts and the trust she had built over years.
Consultations continued. Products were sold from home and online. There were challenges with sourcing, cargo, shipping and operations but each one was handled with the same persistence that started the journey.
Purpose refused to disappear.
The story continues...
Sixteen years of learning. One mission unchanged.
In 2025, Jayshree decided to go all in again. With a stronger network, an experienced team and a renewed vision, Cazaro was rebuilt for its next chapter....
